چکیده
Dynamic vibration control devices provided with inertance, such as Tuned Inerter Dampers, Mass Damper Inerters or Liquid Column Inerters, have been shown in numerous numerical studies to superior mitigation performance compared conventional devices, Dampers. One possible way produce this inertance effect is by means of a moving fluid. In study, the dynamic fluid inerter analyzed experimentally. The considered small-scale prototype consists hydraulic cylinder, and generated flow working an external channel attached cylinder itself. first step, dry configuration, i.e. without fluid, investigated, revealing nonlinear dissipation force. corresponding mechanical model, force represented variant well-known Stribeck effect. Subsequent experiments on complete reveal further This attributed compressibility well air trapped channel. Once parameters model are retrieved, comparative carried out. These show remarkable agreement between experimental outcomes, thus enabling be used stated above.

Synthesis of mechanical networks: the inerter
This paper is concerned with the problem of synthesis of (passive) mechanical one-port networks. One of the main contributions of this paper is the introduction of a device, which will be called the inerter, which is the true network dual of the spring. This contrasts with the mass element which, by definition, always has one terminal connected to ground. The inerter allows electrical circuits ...
متن کاملinvestigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures
deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...
Nonlinear pattern selection in a mechanical model for morphogenesis.
We present a numerical study of the nonlinear mechanical model for morphogenesis proposed by Oster et al. (1983) with the aim of establishing the pattern forming capability of the model. We present a technique for mode selection based on linear analysis and show that, in many cases, it is a reliable predictor for nonlinear mode selection. In order to determine the set of model parameters that c...
متن کاملThermo-mechanical nonlinear vibration analysis of fluid-conveying structures subjected to different boundary conditions using Galerkin-Newton-Harmonic balancing method
The development of mathematical models for describing the dynamic behaviours of fluid conveying pipes, micro-pipes and nanotubes under the influence of some thermo-mechanical parameters results into nonlinear equations that are very difficult to solve analytically. In cases where the exact analytical solutions are presented either in implicit or explicit forms, high skills and rigorous mathemat...
